1) In your own words, what was this reading about?
The reading is about Julie Billiart and Francoise Blin de Bourdon's life for starting and creating more opportunities for women
2) Which woman did you find most interesting and why?
I found Julie BIllart's life more interesting because of the way she was so determined to help people, with her struggles growing up is amazing. She was so determined to help people before herself which is amazing.
3) Which could you relate to most closely and why?
The story I would relate to is Julie Billiart. We both grew up struggling with money problems. But I relate to her more is because of her will and fight of never giving up and keep on working hard. While helping and serving people.
4. Compare the educational backgrounds of the two women.
Julie went to a public school, but she didn't finish her studying due to money. Francoise, however, went to a really good school.
5. How would you describe Francoises’s attitude toward her own money and privilege?
Francoise was a very nice person. Even though she was rich, she still went out of her way to help people.
6. How would you describe Julie’s attitude toward her disability?
Julie's Disability didn't stop her from helping people. Julie never gave up on anything. She showed what sacrifice meant.
7. What opportunities existed for women at this time?
Barely any opportunities for women during that time. During that time people believed that women remained in the house while men work.
8. What lessons do the experiences of these women hold for us today?
The lessons they taught were that all people are equal. They also taught us that if you work hard and sacrifice good things will happen.
